Octeasy for older readers
The "Senior comfort" profile enlarges the text, spaces out the lines, underlines links, enlarges click targets and makes the focus visible: the page stays the same, only more comfortable.
In the panel, choose the "Senior comfort" profile.
What the "Senior comfort" profile turns on
- Text enlarged to 120%
- Wider line height
- Underlined links
- Large click targets
- Strong keyboard focus
What your site needs to do on its side
- Choose a comfortable text size from the start (at least 16 pixels).
- Write links that say where they lead ("See opening hours" rather than "click here").
- Keep clear contrast and buttons that look like buttons.
The limits, honestly
- The widget is one more button to discover: a site that is easy to read by default is still the best help.
- Octeasy does not make a site meet accessibility standards such as WCAG or the French accessibility standard (RGAA), and does not replace an audit. What Octeasy does not do.
The other profiles
- Read easily (Dyslexia)
- See better (Low vision, eye strain)
- Stay focused (ADHD, attention disorders)
- Understand easily (Cognitive disorders, memory)
- Avoid motion (Epilepsy, migraine, vertigo)
- Reduce light (Photophobia, headaches)
- Click easily (Tremors, keyboard only)
