Install Octeasy

A single line to paste on every page of your site, with your site key. Everything else is set in your customer area, without touching the code again.

In four steps

  1. Create your account

With your email address, no password needed: sign in (the customer area is in French for now).

  2. Add your site

Its name and domains. You get its key, which starts with "ot_".

  3. Paste the line

Just before the end of your pages (before the closing body tag), on every page.

  4. Check it works

The button appears. Open the panel from the keyboard with Alt + Shift + A.

<script src="https://octeasy.studjoow.com/widget.js" data-site="ot_yourkey" async></script>

Example only: your customer area gives you the exact line, with your key.

Depending on your platform

WordPress
The Octeasy plugin only needs your site key: Settings, then Octeasy, then paste the key. It will be listed in the WordPress.org directory; until then, it is available on request.
PrestaShop 8 and 9
The Octeasy module is free and only needs your site key. Download the module (a 16 KB zip file), without unzipping it. In your shop's back office: Modules, then Module Manager, then the module upload button at the top right; drop the file in. Click Configure, paste the key, then Save key: the button appears on every page of the shop. To remove it, uninstall the module; the key is deleted along with it.
Shopify, Wix, Webflow, Squarespace
These platforms offer a "custom code" area for the footer: that is where the line goes. Step-by-step guides will be published once each installation has been properly tested.
React, Next.js, hand-coded sites
Add the line to the HTML document shared by every page (the template or the root layout).

Good to know

  • The key is public: it can be seen in your pages' code and only gives access to the widget settings.
  • Changes made in your customer area take effect within a few minutes, with no need to reinstall.
  • If the Octeasy service does not respond, the widget still appears with its default settings: your visitors keep every feature.
  • On a domain you have not declared, the widget shows the default settings and the "Powered by Octeasy" credit.
  • To remove the widget, delete the line. Nothing else is installed on your site.

Your site has a Content Security Policy (CSP)

Add the Octeasy address to these directives in your policy. The widget needs no other origin and no 'unsafe-inline': no eval, no inline script or style, no cookies.

script-src https://octeasy.studjoow.com
connect-src https://octeasy.studjoow.com
style-src https://octeasy.studjoow.com
font-src https://octeasy.studjoow.com

Tested in Chrome under a policy that blocks all inline scripts and styles: no violations. Only a very old browser, without constructable stylesheets, would need 'unsafe-inline' in style-src.
