Octeasy for epilepsy and migraine
The "Avoid motion" profile stops animations and transitions, softens colours and mutes sound, for a calmer page.
In the panel, choose the "Avoid motion" profile.
What the "Avoid motion" profile turns on
- Animations stopped
- Softened colours
- Sound muted
What your site needs to do on its side
- Never make anything flash more than three times per second (WCAG 2.3.1).
- Respect the device's "reduce motion" setting (prefers-reduced-motion).
- Avoid parallax effects and videos that start by themselves.
The limits, honestly
- This setting stops CSS animations; it does not replace a site designed without flashing. An animation drawn with JavaScript, or a video, may keep running.
- Octeasy does not make a site meet accessibility standards such as WCAG or the French accessibility standard (RGAA), and does not replace an audit. What Octeasy does not do.
The other profiles
- Read easily (Dyslexia)
- See better (Low vision, eye strain)
- Stay focused (ADHD, attention disorders)
- Understand easily (Cognitive disorders, memory)
- Reduce light (Photophobia, headaches)
- Click easily (Tremors, keyboard only)
- Senior comfort (Presbyopia, ageing eyes)
